Traum Motorsport to make its debut at the Essen Motor Show

TRAUM MOTOR SPORT will attend the Essen Motor Show from Friday, Nov 26 to Sunday, Dec 4 with its Customer Racing Program’s stunning white SCG003C, which will be proudly on display on the DMV GTC series stand located at Exhibition hall 6, B119.

TRAUM MOTOR SPORT launched its Customer Racing Program back in September at Zolder in Belgium. The Customer Racing Program is a unique opportunity to race a top level SCG003C car with the same support and assistance that is enjoyed by a factory team. In this unique environment, amateur drivers can be part of a true factory endurance racing experience with a top car designed and set-up to race in the world’s most prominent endurance competitions.

The Customer Racing Programme is managed by TRAUM MOTOR SPORT with the very same team that runs the official SCG entries, to exactly the same specification.

The SCG003C, which will be on display at Essen, is the most recently built of the cars and features an all-white exterior. This car is dedicated to the Customer Racing Programme and in specification is identical to the example that completed the Nurburgring 24 Hours earlier this year and showed race-leading pace. It has also starred on the VLN championship at the Nurburgring as well this year.

One of the most prominent championships for which the car is eligible is also the DMV GTC series.
SCG has developed a good partnership with the championship and has been invited to feature on its stand alongside a Ferrari 458 and an Audi R8.

CEO of TRAUM MOTOR SPORT Chiara Garella said: “We’ve had a very successful start in the DMV GTC series and it has been a great platform to launch our Customer Racing Programme, which allows gentleman drivers to take the next step in their racing careers. As a team we can offer as much support as required and tailor our packages to any individual driver requirements. All our gentleman drivers so far have really enjoyed the experience, and we look forward to continuing this innovative programme into 2017.”

Ralph Monschauer, the organiser of the DMV GTC series, said: “SCG has been a great team to work with, and the Customer Racing Programme on offer is fantastic. The SCG003C is an incredible car, which is why we wanted it on our stand at the Essen Motor Show. For gentleman drivers to have the opportunity to drive this incredible machine in our series is something very special.”

The SCG Customer Racing Programme is available at a wide variety of endurance and sprint races including the DMV GTC series, the 24 Hour Series, Nurburgring VLN Championship, Gulf 12 hours and GT Open Series

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus claims its best result of an uninterrupted VLN race

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) has scored its best result ever in an uninterrupted VLN race, with fourth overall at the latest four-hour race on Saturday.

In the past, the team has claimed second overall – but this was following a race that was affected by red flags and stoppages. The latest result was achieved in a non-stop sprint against the best-known sportscar manufacturers in the world.

The team fielded two cars at round eight of the VLN last weekend, a championship dedicated entirely to the famous Nurburgring: number 701 for Germany’s Felipe Laser and Frenchman Franck Mailleux, and 702 for Thomas Mutsch from Germany and Jeff Westphal from the USA.

This was the first time that the cars had raced at the Nurburgring since successfully completing the famous 24 Hours in May, but there has been plenty of development work going on behind the scenes, using the lessons learned from the world’s toughest race. The team also tested Dunlop’s latest-generation tyres.

The cars qualified in 10th and 17th places respectively, and showed perfect mechanical reliability, as well as front-running pace, from start to finish. While 701 finished just off the podium, beaten only by the latest cars from Porsche and Mercedes that were crewed by factory drivers, 702 was delayed by a bodywork issue and a punctured tyre.

The 701 car was actually the latest machine to be built by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, as part of its freshly-launched customer racing programme and is currently available to rent for a variety of different races: either as part of a championship campaign or just for one-off events. The 702 car was Macchinadue, one of the cars that competed in the Nurburgring 24 Hours.

Programme director Paolo Garella commented: “It’s been a very important weekend for us as we were able to fight on equal terms with some of the biggest names in GT racing – we’re talking about manufacturers of the calibre of BMW, Mercedes and Porsche – from the start to the finish of the race. The fourth place we scored is a just reward for all the effort that has been put in so far. As well as speed the cars showed reliability throughout the race, meaning that – thanks to the efforts of our drivers as well – we were genuine contenders. We’re particularly pleased that it was our customer racing car that finished fourth. This just underlines the quality and competitiveness of the product that we are offering to our customers, with performance at the very top of the GT class and unparalleled driving enjoyment when it comes to downforce and lateral grip.”

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus set to launch customer racing programme at Zolder

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) is set to race this weekend at Zolder in Belgium at the latest round of the DMV GTC series, which is open to a wide variety of GT cars, similar to those eligible for the VLN Series at the fabled Nurburgring, as well as the Dunlop 60.
This is the first time SCG will run their customer racing programme and two journalists will experience the programme: UK journalist, television presenter and racing driver Rebecca Jackson, and Autobild writer Guido Naumann. Both journalists are well-known racers in their own right, with Jackson contesting the European GT4 championship at the Blancpain GT Series this year, while Naumann has previous experience of the Nurburgring 24 Hours.
The DMV GTC series has been running for 27 years and travels to a variety of circuits in Europe including Nurburgring, Red Bull Ring and Hockenheim.
SCG will be running the most recently built SCG003C, which will feature an all-new white exterior. In specification, it is identical to the example that recently completed the Nurburgring 24 Hours, one of the team’s greatest achievements so far – during which it showed front-running pace.
Rebecca Jackson said: “I’m really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of this incredible car. I saw what it could do at the Nurburgring and I’m excited to experience the thrill of driving round the track. It will be really interesting to see how the customer racing programme works and how any driving enthusiast can experience a race weekend.”
Naumann added: “Driving a GT car with LMP levels of downforce is not something you get to experience every day, so I obviously can’t wait to get started, especially on a classic track such as Zolder. The SCG003C has already created a stellar reputation during the short time it has been competing, so actually taking part in a race with it myself is sure to be a very special experience: I hope we can do it justice.”
Zolder is one of just three circuits to have hosted the Belgian Grand Prix in the past. It contains a mixture of straights and fast corners, as well as chicanes and slower bends, which make it a very wide-ranging yet exhilarating challenge for any driver. Add into that the notoriously variable Belgian climate, and anything is possible – yet SCG is hoping for a very strong showing this weekend.
This latest SCG003C will be devoted to SCG’s new customer racing programme, which for the first time allows gentleman drivers looking to experience the next level of racing to compete in this bespoke track car, which was previously only run by factory drivers. Now, privateers can benefit from the same expertise and know-how that has gone into the official programme, thanks to a package of services that ranges from one-off race outings to a complete season with a full support structure. The customer racing programme is managed by Traum Motorsport: the very same team that runs the official SCG cars, to exactly the same specification.
Paolo Garella, programme director, said: “Zolder is the first time we will be running our customer racing programme and we’re excited to show what we can offer drivers who are interested in arriving at the circuit and competing in our bespoke track car. This is a new experience for us and we’re planning to be able to run this programme at a variety of circuits all over the world.”
This programme is available from this weekend onwards to race in a variety of series including the 24 Hour Series, Nurburgring VLN Championship, Gulf 12 hours and GT Open Series.
Free practice and qualifying will take place tomorrow (Friday 02 September) followed by DMV GTC races at 10.55 and 14.50 as well as the Dunlop 60 race at 17.00 on Saturday 03 September.

They also include paddock area services, radios, spare parts, fuel, tyres, as well as technical support ranging from telemetry to data analysis and engine support on site.
The SCG003C was most recently seen competing at one of the ultimate endurance races, the Nurburgring 24 hours – for which it was designed – and this new programme will now allow customers to get behind the wheel of this phenomenal car that uses a twin-turbo V6 engine, developed in-house by SCG and Autotecnica Motori. The 3.5-litre unit has a maximum power output of 650bhp and can reach a top speed of 320kph taking just three seconds to reach 100kph.
